The new year is just around the corner, and so it’s the right time to review our achievements in 2021. We’ve done plenty of researching, developing and updating, and posted a great deal of content in our blog. Let’s run through the most exciting developments of the year!
In 2021, Elcomsoft iOS Forensic Toolkit received the most love and the most work. From the very beginning till the end of the year we kept adding features and extending support for new devices and iOS versions.
Our exclusive acquisition agent enables safe low-level extraction without a jailbreak, with iOS 14.8 support currently in the final testing.
Forensically sound, repeatable and verifiable checkm8-based extraction is a hallmark we are truly proud of. It is the smartest, safest, and the most complete extraction method for a wide range of devices running all version of iOS including the current iOS 15.2.
We brought back support for legacy Apple devices, bringing high-speed passcode unlock for iPhone 4 and 5/5c devices.
Elcomsoft Phone Breaker extended Microsoft account support and added the ability to use a trusted iOS device to authorize iCloud extractions.
For desktop forensics we have a higher number of tools which also got their updates. Our go-to solution for accessing encrypted disks and containers, Elcomsoft Forensic Disk Decryptor, can now handle BitLocker volumes created in the latest Windows 10 build (20H2).
The chain of custody begins from the first point of data collection, and we updated our tool for in-field investigations. Elcomsoft System Recovery has become truly forensically sound with write-blocking mode engaged by default.
Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery now supports the full range of disk encryption tools from the usual suspects (BitLocker, LUKS, PGP, TrueCrypt / VeraCrypt, FileVault 2) to BestCrypt Volume Encryption with quite an exotic protection.
Advanced Office Password Recovery now offers blazing fast, guaranteed recovery of encrypted .doc and .xls files saved in Office 97/2000 compatibility mode. Advanced Archive Password Recovery brought support for RAR5 and 7Zip archives
